On our way to Tigre, 19 miles from Buenos Aires, we drive through the city's northern suburbs, past the Argentine president's residence in Olivos and luxurious mansions overlooking the River Plate. At Tigre, we board a river boat for a sail through the waters of the Parana River Delta, a 5,400-square-mile area comprising thousands of islands covered in subtropical rain forest. Our boat trip ends at the Tigre Fluvial Station, where we return to our hotel via the Panamerican Highway.

We depart the pier by bus on a scenic drive to the Carbajal Valley, for panoramic valley and mountain views, continuing our drive towards the Garibaldi Pass and crossing the Andes Mountains before descending to beautiful Escondido Lake. At the lake, you have free time to wander and explore. Visit the cozy Hostería Petrel and relax in its café. Or buy local handicrafts in the souvenir shop. The drive back to Ushuaia will take approximately one hour, and will go directly to the airport.

Depart from the Jetty Visitors Centre in Stanley, heading for nearby Hadassa Bay. A Falklands Conservation tour guide will distribute an illustrated checklist of local birds and share general background information about the birds of the Falkland Islands.
