Snowmobile Trip

This snowmobile trip will make lasting vacation memories. Visit Longyearbyen, the capital of Spitsbergen, and join a fabulous two-day snowmobile safari through this dramatic landscape, stopping at a Russian mining settlement and staying at beautiful Kapp Linné, set in peaceful surroundings and facing the Arctic Ocean.

Beginning in Longyearbyen, the capital of the Svalbard archipelago, your guides give you a full briefing and overview of the journey ahead. You'll set out on snowmobiles at a moderate pace toward the fascinating Russian settlement of Barentsburg, where you'll have lunch and some free time to explore this remote outpost of Old Russia before continuing to Kapp Linné, situated at the mouth of Isfjord. Here, you will stay at a former radio communications station, which offers comfortable rooms, a lounge and dining room in an utterly breathtaking, remote location.

After breakfast the following morning, you'll travel back to Longyearbyen via a different route, weather permitting. Stopping for lunch on the way, you'll arrive back in Longyearbyen in the late afternoon for an overnight stay, before departing for your international flight.

Participants do not need prior snowmobile-driving experience, but they should be confident drivers to make this trip. Valid driver's license is required.

Day 1 Flight to Oslo.*
Day 2 Arrive Oslo, transfer to downtown. Free time to explore Oslo. Overnight.
Day 3 Transfer to airport for flight to Longyearbyen [B].
Day 4 Arrive Longyearrbyen, transfer to hotel. Meet with guide for safari briefing. Overnight at SAS Radisson Polar Hotel. Set off in the morning. Visit to Barentsburg and Kapp Linné. Overnight [B/L/D].
Day 5 Overnight Spitsbergen [B].
Day 6–7 Snowmobiling [B/L/D].
Day 8 Return to Spitsbergen. Overnight at SAS Radisson Polar Hotel (B, L).
Day 9 Transfer to airport for return flight to Oslo [B].
Day 10 Arrive Oslo, transfer to downtown. Free time in Oslo. Overnight [B].
Day 11 Transfer to airport for return flight to U.S.* [B].

All participants should be reasonably fit and prepared for extreme temperatures. The exact itinerary will be dictated by weather and snow conditions. Participants are expected to help to prepare for each trip.
